An informal survey of the spring bloom,Virginia, 2020. Early on in lockdown, I began collecting flowers on daily walks around the neighborhood with my dogs. Admist all the uncertainty, the flowers bloomed in spring, in their own time, as promised, with the sun. This project was an exercise in intentional observation and to use focus as a tool in mindfulness. Each image is an 8x10” tintype of a flower taped to my wall, hung upside down as is customary when drying blooms.
